Short answers, and none of them hedged.
Does it change my Tally data?
Only when you say yes, and only what you approved. The connector reads continuously; nothing is written back to your books without an explicit approval from you or whoever you have named. Every write is logged with who approved it and when.
What if I don't use Tally?
QuickBooks, Zoho and Xero connectors are next — same brain, different connector. And if you keep no books at all yet, you can start fresh on SnapBooks: no migration, no Tally licence, nothing to install.
Do I have to install something?
Only if you're connecting Tally. Then one 13 MB installer runs on the PC Tally sits on — it needs no administrator rights, it doesn't change Tally, and it only reads. If you're starting fresh, there's nothing to install at all.
Can I check a number it gives me?
Yes, and you should. Ask it where a figure came from and it shows the vouchers behind it. Numbers are never written by the model — they are fetched from your books and checked before the reply goes out. If it can't ground a figure, it says so instead of guessing.
Where does my data live?
Your books, documents and answers are stored in India (AWS ap-south-1, Mumbai), encrypted and isolated per company. AI processing runs on Anthropic's models and may leave India — storage and inference are two separate questions and we answer both on the security page.
Can my team use it? Can my CA?
Both. Each person gets their own access and their own level — some can ask, some can approve. Your CA can work from their side on a firm plan, and anything they decide comes back to you in your own thread, in their name.
What does it cost, really?
₹999 per company, per person, per month. The first 7 days are free with everything unlocked, so you try it on your own books before you decide — no card to start, and you'll be told before anything is charged.
